Pixlr is a popular browser-based photo editor that includes an AI background remover among its many tools. You can remove a background in one click with Pixlr’s Remove BG tool, then keep editing in Pixlr Express for quick edits or Pixlr Editor for layer-based work.
Key features include:
- One-click AI background removal and cutouts
- Batch background removal for multiple images
- Pixlr Editor with layers, masks and advanced tools
- Pixlr Express for fast, simple edits
- Generative AI for images, fills and expansions
- Templates, fonts and elements on paid plans
- Web, desktop and mobile apps
Pixlr has a free plan with ads and limited AI use. Paid plans include monthly AI credits: Plus costs about $1.99 per month billed annually ($2.49 monthly) with 80 credits and no ads, Premium about $7.99 per month billed annually ($9.99 monthly) with 1,000 credits and the full asset library, and Ultra from about $19.99 per month billed annually with up to 10,000 credits.
The free plan has ads and limited AI credits, and cutout quality on tricky edges can trail specialists. For free and cheap browser edits, though, Pixlr is great value.
